Gordon started Tae Kwon Do at age 19 for self defence and quickly came to appreciate both the art and the functionality finding it gave him both capability and confidence to the degree that he never needed to actually use his new-found skills!
He restarted his Tae Kwon Do journey after a 22 year break to train with his son, eventually achieving his black belt in 2016 at the age of 48. He competes regularly often against competitors 30+ years younger and has held regional and national titles showing that age is no barrier to success in Tae Kwon Do.
Gordon is a 3rd Degree Black Belt, qualified instructor, DBS checked and first aid trained. He is passionate about inclusivity and welcomes students of all ages and abilities into his classes. He is particularly interested in neuro-inclusivity and the beneficial effects TKD can have on students with a neuro-diverse profile.
Gordon is the Instructor at Brighton, Assistant Instructor at Eastbourne and provides cover for Lewes. He also runs an afterschool TKD club at London Meed Primary school in Burgess Hill.
