Barry Humphries

Started training – April 1993

Age: Undisclosed (but England hadn’t yet won a would cup when I was born).

What is my biggest achievement?
A 5th degree isn’t easy to come by. Although, having won medals at local, regional and national competitions, at all levels, and numerous club/student awards over the years, my proudest moments are watching my Daughter, Katie, reach her own dan grades, medalling at national and world championship level, and working together officiating at gradings and tournaments.

Why do I like training?
Simple pleasure. There is almost nothing I don’t like. Pushing hard physically. Mentally working out how to perform new patterns, drills or linework. School playground games, that take a new dimension, for sparring skills. What’s not to like?

Favourite saying:

“Don’t practice till you get it right. Practice till you can’t get it wrong”.
