If you have a safeguarding question, worry or concern — whether about a child, young person or adult — please contact our Designated Safeguarding Lead in confidence.
lewestaekwondo@gmail.comIf someone is in immediate danger
Always dial 999 or contact the relevant local authority's children's social care / adult safeguarding team without delay. Our club lead can then be informed.
Our safeguarding approach
We believe everyone has a right to be safe and to enjoy sport. Safeguarding is at the heart of how Lewes Taekwondo operates — from how we recruit and vet our instructors to how classes are structured and how concerns are handled. This applies equally to children, young people, and adults at risk.
Vetting & training
Our instructors are DBS checked and safeguarding trained, and we maintain safe coaching practices in every session.
Children & young people
We have clear policies for welcoming and supervising juniors, promoting positive behaviour and keeping them safe in and around class.
Reporting concerns
Any concern can be reported to our Designated Safeguarding Lead in confidence, and is always taken seriously and acted upon.
Listening
We actively listen to students, parents and carers, and review our safeguarding practice so concerns prompt learning and improvement.
